| Layana Resort & Spa, Krabi Thailand - A Haven of Luxury |
The sapphire blue sea of the Andaman and its lovely islands are known the world over for their stunning scenery and natural wonders. It is here in the southern province of Krabi, Thailand that you will find the charming Layana Resort and Spa situated on the beautiful island of Ko Lanta Yai. Layana Resort & Spa is located on the west coast of Koh Lanta at Phra-Ae Beach (Long Beach), a 3-km stretch of white sand. Lying off the coast of Krabi Province on the Andaman Seas shores of Thailand, Koh Lanta Yai is approximately 27 km long and 12 km wide, making it the latest of 15 islands in an archipelago that forms the Koh Lanta National Marine Park. Layana is a Sanskrit name meaning an interlude or rest, and at the Layana Resort and Spa, just 2 hours south of Krabi Airport, you will find a period of perfect relaxation away from the pressures and stress of your everyday routine. Upon arrival at Krabi Airport will be welcomed by our representatives and transferred directly to the resort. From November to April, the transportation consists of a 50-minute drive from Krabi airport to Baan Hua Hin pier, and then a 20-minute ride along the coast of Koh Lanta on Layana’s private speedboat. From May to October, transfers are organized by land transport only with two ferry crossing. Layana Resort & Spa can also arrange surface transportation to and from any point in Phuket, Phangna and Trang provinces. The elegant, low-rise resort has a distinctly Asian feel and has been built to take advantage of its lovely setting on a three-kilometre beach with lush forested hills behind. The luxurious guestrooms are spread out within eleven separate 2-storey buildings designed to blend with the surroundings, while six stand-alone suites overlook the beach and timeless beauty of the warm and welcoming sea. There are only 50 rooms at Layana Resort: 44 Garden Pavilions, three Beach Suites and three Ocean Deluxe Suites. The Pavilions with 49 square metres of space enjoy a lovely setting in the tropical gardens, while the Beach Suites are perched on the edge of the beach. The spacious Ocean Deluxe Suites are built over two floors with an upstairs open-air lounge. All rooms have large balconies: the perfect place to enjoy an evening drink while listening to the sounds of nature piercing the night air. Décor and furnishings are natural and luxurious: indigenous hardwoods of teak and mahogany; smooth sandstone, marble and slate; and gentle Thai silks and cotton carefully selected and combined with modern amenities to make for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The Resort’s philosophy is a commitment to quality and value, personalized attention, and the ultimate in comfort and convenience. From the moment you arrive at Layana Resort until the moment you leave, the friendly staff will be on hand to help you around the clock. Gracious and endearing Thai hospitality to make you feel at home and amongst friends. Whether you are looking to spend your holiday lounging on the beach and catching up with your reading or perhaps doing something a little more active, you will find that Layana Resort has something for you. There is an inviting infinity edged salt-water pool, the perfect place to work off your breakfast or just to take a cooling dip. There is also a large Jacuzzi should you want to simply enjoy the water without the hassle of exercise. A free morning? Why not treat your body and mind to a variety of treatments at the Linger Longer Spa? From November to April, the clear waters of the Andaman Sea invite safe swimming, Hobie sailing and kayaking or, if you are feeling adventurous, you can plunge beneath the waves and enjoy the infinite wonders of the undersea world. Boat trips are arranged to nearby islands. If you would prefer to stay dry, there are many activities to be found on land. Trek through the jungle and enjoy native flora and mysterious caves, or sit on the back of a majestic Thai elephant to see the sights in style. There’s a lot to do, but if it’s doing nothing you crave, simply enjoy the bliss of lazing around on the beach or a deep massage at the Spa. Sip a cocktail at “Sundowners” beach bar, a perfect setting for evening sundowners while enjoying spectacular sunsets over the Andaman Sea. Or savour the sea breezes and delicious cuisine in the “Tides” restaurant overlooking the sea. Whether you are looking for a light snack or formal a la carte dining, your taste buds will not be neglected at “Tides”. As well as seafood and shellfish, freshly plucked from the surrounding oceans, top quality ingredients are bought onto the island daily. Whatever your tastes, you will find something to enjoy as the menus combine international dishes with favourite local foods to create a unique fusion of tastes and flavours. The “Lounge” is another venue to enjoy a relaxing drink or a tasty snack. There is also the library where you can catch up on the day’s news, access the Internet or enjoy a pastry. “Linger-Longer Spa” is located within its own walled garden and the tranquil setting includes air-conditioned treatment rooms with private showers and double suites with either indoor hydrotherapy massage baths, or private outdoor Jacuzzi baths. For thousands of years the people of Asia have built up knowledge of natural herbs and developed a unique style of massage as a way of healing the body and soothing the mind. At allow the trained therapists to soothe away your stress and fatigue, lifting the spirit and calming the mind. Layana Resort and Spa, a haven of luxury where nothing is too much trouble.
