Koh Bulon @ Satun

Bulon, a group of islands in Andaman Sea of southern Thailand, comprises four small islands and is part of a marine national park. The largest of these islands is Koh Bulon Lae. It is located about 20 km off coast of the main land. The main economic activities of the inhabitans on Koh Bulon Lae are fishing and rubber tree cultivation. There also a school in the island.

The other three islands (Don, Mai Pai, Rang) are very small and uninhabitated. Boat tours to these islands are offered from Koh Bulon Lae. All Bulon islands have beautiful beaches with casuary trees and excellent opportunities for snorkeling.

Koh Bulon has three main resorts with simple rooms respectively clean bungalows and each resort has its own restaurant. To get to the island take a taxi or bus from Satun or Trang to Langu. From Langu take a pick-up to the pier at Pak Bara. From there boats to Koh Bulon Lae take about two hours and leave daily at around 2 pm. (Note: A regular boat service is only available during the peak season from November to April).
