Singapore’s first Integrated Resort (IR), Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), will begin the first day of the Tiger year with the soft-opening of its casino and a preview opportunity to stroll through the amazing environments at Universal Studios Singapore and enjoy the specially themed dining and shopping venues that will complement the incredible attractions, rides and shows that soon will be revealed.

Singapore’s first IR, Resorts World Sentosa, announced today that it will start its phased opening from 20 Jan 2010, beginning with its four hotels - Festive Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel Singapore, Crockfords Tower and Hotel Michael – offer a combined inventory of 1,350 rooms and 10 restaurant outlets at their opening.

Asia’s grooviest New Year celebration under the stars - Siloso Beach Party at Sentosa – is set to be Bigger and Bolder this year. The event, which will be Singapore’s biggest countdown party by the beach, will take place on Singapore’s hippest beach - Siloso Beach. For the first time, the 1.2 km beach stretch will be transformed into a dance party arena, comprising five unique zones.

Get ready for a ‘trick-or-treat’ event with a twist. Sentosa’s Halloween special happening this October is set to be Singapore’s largest Asian-themed Halloween event. Sentosa’s museum attraction, Images of Singapore, will be transformed into a “SPOOKTACULAR” playground for your “haunting” pleasure.

For two weekends, this two-storey colonial building will open its doors when night falls, and we dare you to walk through it for a spine-chilling encounter.

Along the way, you will pick up “nature detective” skills which you can use no matter where you go.

The Marilyn Monroes of the world will have a brand new subway grating – complete with skirt-lifting updraft – to perform their classic Seven Year Itch pose, as Universal Studios Singapore embarks on an 11-city audition world tour, in search of the world’s best stunt performers, stilt walkers, puppeteers, vocal impersonators, singers, dancers, actors and celebrity lookalikes for, among others, Charlie Chaplin, Princess Fiona, BeetleJuice and of course, the Hollywood screen legend Marilyn Monroe.

Auditions in Singapore will kick off the world tour on 27 and 28 April 2009.

Come 24 January 2009, the island of Sentosa will blossom in a million colours once again, as the Sentosa Flowers floral extravaganza returns for the fifth time to usher in the Lunar New Year.
