The Singapore Biennale 2008 (11 Sep -16 Nov)

Following the success of its first edition, the Singapore Biennale (11 September – 16 November) returns for a 10-week visual feast, featuring some of the world’s and Singapore’s frontrunners in contemporary paintings, installations, interactive electronic media and sculptures exhibited at unusual and significant venues around the city. Singapore’s largest international contemporary visual arts platform will also involve a new segment this year, known as the Boutique Show that is set to attract the world’s top art galleries and international art enthusiasts.

Bvlgari Watch Exhibition 2008 (18 – 28 Sep) @ Paragon

Luxury label Bvlgari will present the Bvlgari Watch Exhibition 2008 (18 – 28 September) at Paragon along Orchard Road. Producing finely crafted jewelled watches in platinum and diamonds since 1920, Bvlgari will showcase more than 100 exquisitely crafted timepieces, including the Diagono collection which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Watch connoisseurs and avid collectors will want to keep a lookout for the limited edition timepieces created exclusively for this event and which are never seen before in South East Asia.

Diana Krall Live in Concert (26 September 2008) @ Keppel Bay

Jazz aficionados can look forward to an intimate evening at the Diana Krall Live in Concert (26 September 2008). The world’s best selling jazz artist kicks off her Asian tour at the picturesque Marina at Keppel Bay. For the ultimate experience, live it up with exclusive packages that include a cocktail party backstage and a post-concert party.

The Singapore Motorshow 2008 (26 Sep – 5 Oct) @ Suntec Singapore

The Singapore Motorshow 2008 (26 September – 5 October) at Suntec Singapore has already established itself as a must-visit for every car enthusiast. Held once every two years, the Motorshow returns this year for yet another adrenaline-charged turn. Expect sleek cutting-edge concept cars, the newest automobiles and the latest motor accessories and services.

Singapore GP Season Highlights

ING Renault F1 Team Pavilion (29 August – 28 September), Tang Plaza
Formula One™ fans are in for a treat with a special display of the Renault F1 R28 show car taking centre stage, flanked by the Mégane Renault F1 Team R26 and Clio Renault F1 Team R27. In addition, a full-sized replica of a real Formula One™ steering wheel and interactive story-boards will offer a peek behind the scenes of the Formula One™ team, providing a Formula One™ experience for everyone. Exclusive ING Renault F1 Team collectibles and merchandise, some made with actual parts of the Formula One™ car, will also be on sale.

Oris Air Asia Grand Prix Challenge & Roadshow with Cortina Watch (17 – 30 September), Millenia Walk
Cortina Watch
and Oris  jointly present the thrills of Formula One™ driving in a life-size AT&T Williams F1 Team simulator. Winners of the Challenge will get a chance to pit their driving skills against Nico Rosberg,of the AT&T Williams F1 Team. Collectors of luxury time-pieces in Singapore will also be the first in the world to witness the launch of Oris' latest collection of Williams-inspired timepieces, exhibited alongside a range of Oris timepieces inspired by the world of motor-sport.

 

TAG Heuer “Racing Legends of our Time” Exhibition (19 - 28 September), Paragon Atrium
This exhibition showcases TAG Heuer's rich heritage and involvement with motor racing since the 1860s and is an exhibition that all avid watch collectors will look forward to., They will witness the unveiling of a new TAG Heuer watch inspired by motor racing and have the opportunity to purchase one of the 150 limited edition watches commemorating the first Formula One™ Grand Prix night race in Singapore.

Alongside these are a compelling line-up of arts, entertainment and lifestyle events including dining and retail promotions by participating merchants such as Hua Ting, My Humble House and Central, amongst many others.

Michelin-star Guest Chef Laurent Peugeot (22 – 28 September), Hilton Hotel
Gourmet food-lovers can look forward to fine-dining with award-winning Chef Laurent Peugeot from Burgundy who will be serving up some of his finest culinary masterpieces at The Harbour Grill and Oyster Bar. Chef Laurent has won many fans, at home and abroad, with his stunning and unique culinary fusion of minimalist Japanese and hearty terroir de Bourgogne.

Singapore Beer Festival (2 – 5 October), Fort Canning Park
Showcasing hundreds of beers from around the world, the Singapore Beer Festival is a trade and consumer event. Besides offering the trade a significant opportunity to meet and interact with industry professionals and key decision makers from the region, it will also feature local and international music artists, stand-up comedy shows plus a host of other live entertainment events for the public.

Master’s Formula – The Artistic Drive (25 September – 26 October), Ngee Ann City, Orchard Road and Singapore River
Fans of contemporary art are in for a treat with this exhibition showcasing several monumental sculptures of contemporary masters Fernando Botero, Arman Fernandez, Robert Combas, Jean Dubuffet and Niki de Saint Phalle at two tourism precincts – Orchard Road and Singapore River. The exhibition of at Opera Gallery in Ngee Ann City will feature paintings and sculptures of modern art superlatives like Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse.
