As preparations kick into final gear to stage the first night race in Formula One™ history at the unique Marina Bay street circuit in downtown Singapore, local residents and international visitors alike can look forward to a number of events and festivities that will be hosted alongside the world-class 2008 FORMULA 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. Held over three weekends from 20 September to 5 October, the Singapore GP Season will showcase various Formula One™-themed activities, entertainment events and lifestyle festivals as well as shopping and dining promotions, promising to get fans, visitors and Singaporeans all revved up during the race period. With the world’s first Formula One™ night race as the anchor highlight, the Singapore GP Season will present visitors a total race experience unlike any other. It will further boost Singapore’s standing as a vibrant events and entertainment capital in Asia that offers discerning visitors top-notch lifestyle experiences.

Singapore River Festival (19-28 Sep)

Making its debut is the Singapore River Festival (19 – 28 September), which will see the historic district dazzle with nightly festivities. Already a draw for tourists by day, many of whom visit for its inherent historical charm and landmarks, the Singapore River is also synonymous with waterfront alfresco dining, vibrant nightlife and exciting entertainment after sundown. Highlights of the Singapore River Festival include concerts on the river featuring international and local artistes, outdoor parties, a special exhibition on Vietnam's unique 2,500-year history which will also showcase rare arts treasures, food and beverage promotions and a float parade on the river, alongside party places such as Ministry of Sound at Clarke Quay, IndoChine Waterfront at Empress Place and home-grown dance icon Zouk.

Amber Lounge (27-28 Sep ) @ Conrad Centennial Singapore

In its inaugural race season, Singapore is one of just five Formula One™ race destinations selected to host the ultra exclusive Amber Lounge (27 – 28 September) party at the Conrad Centennial Singapore. This premium event is a veritable magnet for race drivers, team principals, team sponsors and international models and celebrities from the worlds of television, fashion, music and sport. Amber Lounge Singapore opens from 10.30pm and the party – and champagne – does not stop till 5am. For the complete experience, indulge in a meal at the Amber Fusion in-house restaurant before partying till dawn.
