National Day Parade 2007 – Talents Pool Concert

Concert featuring local talents to kick off the National Day Parade

Early birds to the National Day Parade (NDP) 2007 will be entertained with a one-hour energy-lifting concert showcasing local talents in music, dance and theatre. Known as Talents Pool, the concert features our favourite Singapore songs.

Chairman of NDP 2007 Show Committee, Colonel (COL) Alvin Kek, said: “We have assembled a host of well-loved local talents who will get the spectators singing and moving along with their songs and dance.”

Key Highlights

Hosts

The concert will be hosted by Daniel Ong, Annabelle Francis, Belinda Lee, Nurulaini Rahim and Shabir Mohammed.

Performers

The performers for the Talents Pool are from varied backgrounds. They include:

• Percussion group Wicked Aura Batucada;
• Classical musicians Nancy Yuen, Yu Ji Xing and T’ang Quartet;
• Dance artistes Sinclair Ang and JAZZ INC., Singapore Dance Theatre, Potong Pasir Bhangra Community Centre Troupe and the Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company;
• Theatre performers Gani Karim, Sebastian Tan and the Dim Sum Dollies; and
• Singers Asha Edmund, Jai Wahab, Juz B, Lily Nuris Rahmat, Shabir Mohammed and Sheikh Haikel, who hail from different music genres.

Sports Display

While enjoying the concert, parade-goers will also be entertained with a water sports display of dragon boats. The display is possible with the presence of the water element at the new venue for this year’s NDP.

Red Lions Freefall

A traditional crowd-favourite, the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Red Lions will be performing a military freefall display.

The Talents Pool concert and displays promise to be an exciting prelude to the Parade and Show for NDP 2007.
