For the first time ever this Lunar New year, the IndoChine Group of Bars, Restaurants, Clubs and Cafes, have worked together with the good people at Redbull, to present a unique tropical snowboarding demonstration, on the very slopes of Club Street, home to retailers such as VENUE, redwolves, BAR SaVanh and many more. Professional snowboarders used to icy cold slopes of Salt Lake City, for examples, have gathered in Singapore on Saturday, 21 January 2006 for this exciting and novel exhibition of freestyle snowboarding that needs no mountains and only crushed ice this close to the equator.

Set against an unusual backdrop of conservation houses, this Tropical Snow Ride extravaganza is proudly supported by Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Consultative Committee and the Club Street Association of Business and is in line with the Association's efforts of organizing monthly events to rejuvenate and promote this eclectic and bohemian area. In addition, Tropical Snow Ride is to be one of several satellite events during the 3-week festivities organized for the Lunar New Year in Chinatown.

Ski Venture, a local pioneer snowboarding school, produces the event. 12 professional local riders have taken the ultimate opportunity to show off their snowing skills – tricks, slides, spins and grabs, set against an unusual picturesque backdrop of conservation houses.
