Asia’s grooviest New Year celebration under the stars - Siloso Beach Party at Sentosa – is set to be Bigger and Bolder this year. The event, which will be Singapore’s biggest countdown party by the beach, will take place on Singapore’s hippest beach - Siloso Beach. For the first time, the 1.2 km beach stretch will be transformed into a dance party arena, comprising five unique zones. Guests will be able to usher in a brand new year at Sentosa on 31 December 2009, from 8pm to 6am with a groovy line up of DJs, non-stop music, pyrotechnics display and fringe entertainment.

This year, resident clubs on Siloso Beach will join in the New Year celebrations, to create a sandy dance floor measuring 32,000 square metres, equivalent to 25 Olympic-size swimming pools. On the eastern end, Coastes will feature live music and chill-out grooves. New club on the block, Azzura, a multi-level entertainment and hydrosports complex, will showcase a line-up of international and local DJs, like DJ Seb Fontaine and DJ ZigZach. Café Del Mar will add to the party vibes with their selection of local ‘spin doctors’, while Wave House Sentosa will turn up the water jets and DJ tower for barrels of sound waves.

The heartbeat of the countdown goes on at the Main Arena where local and international DJs will spin a medley of dance tracks from the main stage, to fuel the celebrations from dusk till dawn. Stiltwalkers, dancers, fire-eaters and fringe activities will add to the festivities. To complete the beach party experience, the ever-popular foam pool – the hallmark of a Sentosa beach bash – will once again be brought out for an unforgettable party experience.

Siloso Beach Party, Sentosa’s annual beach countdown party since 1998, is set to attract over 20,000 revellers this year. It will be part of the many celebrations at the southern tip of Singapore, alongside Mount Faber, VivoCity and St James Power Station. Together, these leisure and lifestyle partners will transform the entire Southern Waterfront Precinct into a compelling countdown party destination.
