NDP 2009 Funpacks
The Funpacks have always been a key highlight of NDP. This year, the key considerations are focused on designing the bags that will appeal to all ages and genders so that the bag will be used and reused beyond NDP09.
The bags are available in eight attractive colours with interchangeable flap. It is highly versatile, modern and fashionable. It can be carried in two ways, either a typical Messenger Bag or as a Tote bag by removing the flap and using the two straps inside. There are three small compartments inside the bag to allow smaller items to be neatly secured.
Contained within the funpacks are three categories of items: Sustenance items such as drinks, snacks and sweet; Interactive items such as the Heart-shaped Lantern, Han-shaped Drum and Face Tattoo and Publication items such as the programme booklet, magazine, discount coupons booklet etc.
As the nation celebrates, the NDP committee has produced 10 000 special edition NDP 09 bags to raise greater awareness and funds to support the less fortunate in our society. If you care for the society, you can contribute S$15 for a special edition bag and Community Chest hopes to raise $150 000. All proceeds will go to the Community Chest to help more than 310 000 people in 155 programmes run by 69 charities. Some of the voluntary welfare organizations (VWOs) under ComChest, together with Institute of Metal Health and Yellow Ribbon Project will be taking part in the celebrations by packing some of this year’s funpacks.
In support of the global green movement, organisers also ensured that plastic packaging has been reduced. They are also working with a partner to recycle the interactive items after the event.
