J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge 2009
The sixth annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge brought new surprises and excitement along with a new route that saw renewed enthusiasm for Singapore’s largest corporate race among this year’s runners. Flagged off by Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth & Sports, and Mr Philip Lee, CEO, J.P. Morgan Singapore, a capacity crowd of 9,927 runners and walkers from 330 companies took to the streets and completed the 5.6 km (3.5 mile) road race. Starting from the Esplanade Bridge, participants went down Raffles Avenue and Republic Avenue., before moving onto the Singapore F1 GP race route, and finally reaching the finish line at the Pit Building, where they were greeted with cheers from their colleagues and friends.
The Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM), which has been the beneficiary of the Corporate Challenge in Singapore since its 2004 debut, will receive a donation for each entry. The funds will go specifically to ExplorAsian Zones at ACM -interactive displays dedicated to providing children and adults with a “hands on” learning experience.
