Christian Lacroix the costumier
An exhibition featuring a collection of couture stage costumes by fashion designer Christian Lacroix, will be shown out of France for the very first time at the National Museum of Singapore from 20 March to 7 June 2009.
Presented by the National Museum of Singapore, Christian Lacroix the costumier will showcase close to 80 spectacular costumes as well as 60 illustrations and sketches from the Centre National du Costume de Scène (National Stage Costume Museum, Moulins, France), and from the virtuoso designer’s personal collection. This is an exclusive chance to see Lacroix’s body of work that spans over 20 years and more than 25 stage productions, which includes Shakespeare’s Othello, and operas, Cosi fan tutte and Carmen.
This exhibition celebrates Mr Christian Lacroix’s affinity and devotion to the theatre and opera.
