| Friven & Co. @ Tanglin – A New Lifestyle Mall |
The diversity, depth & breadth of retailing concepts provide a more enjoyable experience for the urban shopper A New Lifestyle Mall: Friven & Co. @ TanglinThe upcoming opening of a new lifestyle mall signals a transformation of “the dense wooded area” and a two-storey building, Tanglin Post Office, to a new type of urban retailing. A new 18,000 sqft lifestyle mall, slates to open in June 2008, will be managed by Friven & Co. to match today’s shopping trends. Friven & Co. @ Tanglin, located at 56 Tanglin Road, will house its largest store worldwide and other quality tenants such as SunMoon Food, Denise The Wine Shop, HSBC Premier Centre. “Friven & Co. @ Tanglin is like a dream come true. We’ve been searching for a suitably sized space in the Orchard area to house our flagship store and we are beyond delighted to have finally found the perfect site to translate our ideas into reality. This flagship outlet will embody Friven & Co.’s core values and when completed, it will be a place for our customers to shop for quality products, run their little errands and then rest for a cuppa. A one-stop solution amidst a beautiful environment that can be enjoyed by all”, said Mr. Roy Ng, Chief Executive Officer, Friven & Co. Ltd. Prominent local designer Mr. Tan Ju Meng, known for his spectacular theatre set design, is tasked to inject a unique theatrical touch to these retail spaces. Hence, shoppers can expect to totally immerse themselves in dramatic and beautiful surroundings. Friven & Co. flagship outlet, occupying half of the total retail area (9,000 square feet), is modelled after a ‘home concept’ to be positioned in Singapore’s trendiest suburbs (Orchard Road). Friven & Co. @ Tanglin will follow signature look of Friven & Co.’s standalone outlets. The façade of Friven & Co. @ Tanglin features the triangle roof icon and take on the black and white theme that epitomises the company’s contemporary style. This trademark look will be further exemplified by clean, sleek lines created with frameless glass windows and washed in timeless, classic white. With the initial investment for refurbishments tagged at over S$1 million, this fresh “face” will give the stately Tanglin Road a new point of public interest. Located on the second floor of Friven & Co. @ Tanglin, this flagship store will stock an extensive range of home and living accessories. Cleverly segmented into the areas of a home, customers will enter a main arrival hall to see a living room decked out with lifestyle products from Apple, a functional kitchen fully equipped with branded European kitchen systems from Kitchen Culture and even a dining gallery. Exploring the more enclosed areas, customers will find bedroom alcoves for both adults and children featuring products from brands such as Babybjorn, Dunstan and Kids Mill, and be further charmed by the soothing bath and spa sanctuary. In addition, the latest Swedish, Finnish and Danish designs from Style:Nordic will also be available in living room, kitchen and dining gallery. Each area will feature the related products artfully displayed to give homemakers great interior design and usage ideas. A permanent gallery focused on design excellence has also been carved out. Named “The Forum”, this area will showcase the works of promising international home and lifestyle designers. The Friven & Co. flagship outlet will also house several new-to-market labels such as the Honey Berrie children and baby collection, Nou Nou and Tonfisk. Honey Berrie (imported from the United States & Japan) is a brand specialising in quality baby and children products. Nou Nou and Tonfisk (Scandinavian style) will be coupled with modern craftsmanship, exuding a lively, vibrant feel that is strong in both design and functionality. “Friven & Co. @ Tanglin represents our vision and all the features, offerings and services that go into it must enrich, enchant and enhance our customers’ lives. We have had great interest and enthusiasm from all our partners and tenants, and we are confident that this unique lifestyle retail concept will carve out a significant niche of its own”, said Mr Ng. As everyone’s time is becoming more compressed with urban lifestyles, Friven & Co. @ Tanglin the lifestyle mall will be the community meeting place amidst the hill peaks, nutmeg and pepper.
