A set of commemorative gold, silver and copper coins will be released to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Bhai Maharaj Ji. Some of the relics of Bhai Maharaj Singh Ji will be on display from 23rd to 30th July 2006 to provide glimpses of his life.

The Sikh Centre is set up to meet the changing needs of the Sikh Community. Rapidly increasing standards of living and education are everyday issues our community grapples with and to deal these issues the Sikh Centre organizes numerous activities aimed at uplifting the community through spirtual development, continuous learning and a healthy lifestyle. The Sikh Centre, with its multiude of activities targeted at both the young and old, is probably Asia's First Community Centre and has the potential to become the Regional Sikh Resource and Hertiage Centre.

The 150th Anniversary Celebrations of Bhai Maharaj Singh Ji provides an apt opportunity for the launch of the Sikh Centre. Bhai Maharaj Singh Ji, a saint-soldier, is an embodiment of the three tenets (Nam Simran, Sewa, and Kirt Karni) that drives the Sikh Centre and Central Sikh Gurdwara Board. His excellency, the President S R Nathan will officially open the Sikh Centre on 30/7/06 and this will bring to close two months of celebrations.
