Touché 2008

Touché 2008 aims to serve as a platform the exchange of ideas amongst people from various fields, with the focus on youth. Apart from the sharing and exchange of ideas, Touché aims to provide an avenue for expression, discussion and evaluation of ideas and culture through film, theatre, music, performance and speeches.

Touché 2008 will be an open forum with question and answer sessions to allow audience interaction and participation. This inaugural session will be held at Tampines Changkat Community Centre on 8 June (Sunday) 2008 from 1pm to 6pm.

1330h – 1400h Reception and Registration
1400h – 1420h Opening Performance
1420h – 1430h Opening Speech by Touché 2008 Committee
1430h – 1500h First Talk and Q&A
1500h – 1530h Second Talk and Q&A
1530h – 1600h Audience Participation Segment *
1600h – 1630h Tea Break
1630h – 1650h Video Screening from TED.Com and the arrival Of Guest of Honour, Ms. Irene Ng, Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC
1650h – 1710h Third Talk and Q&A
1710h – 1800h Fourth Talk (Ms. Ng) with Q&A and Closing Credits

For the audience participation segments, members of the confirmed audience will be invited to speak for less than 5 minutes each on a topic of their choice. Rebuttals and discussion can be held on the spot between members of the audience and this will be moderated.

Distinguished Speakers:

• Opening performance by Mr. Nick Sin, member of Touche Organising Committee;
• Opening speech by Mr. Edgar Kieu, Chairperson for Touché 2008;
• Confirmed speakers include Ms. Irene Ng, Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC, Mr. Glenn Goh, Executive Director of Dotbox Pte Ltd, Mr. Lim Leng Hiong, Science Writer, Mr. Tan Jian Xiong, Project Director of NVAC and Mr. Nicholas Lee, Executive Director of Trybe;
• Various speakers have yet to be confirmed but potential speakers include youths speaking on various topics and industry leaders in F&B/Tourism and social commentators;
• Ms. Irene Ng, Guest of Honor, will be invited to give a talk and partake in a Q&A session;
  • A tea break will be provided to allow various attendees to mingle and network.
