Food from the Heart is a local charity with the mission of reaching out to Needys in Singapore with food. In late 2002, there was a news article reporting on tons of bread being disposed by bakeries on a daily basis. The mission was sparked off by Ms. Christine Laimer who organized a pioneer fleet of 130 volunteers to collect the left overs and delivered to the less fortunate. Today the organization has grown to run 5 community programmes targeting the Needys and underprivileged children that involved a total of 1700 active volunteers.

Donate

As a charitable organization, we rely heavily on support from our sponsors and well wishers. We are a member of the National Council of Social Services and every cash donation of $50 and above will enjoy double tax exemption.

Volunteering

• We need a lot of day (12 - 3pm) bread delivery volunteers who is willing to go the distance for us! Collection are mostly in town area (Hyatt, Intercontinental, Raffles the Plaza, Shangri-La, Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons and Marche Vivocity) Please contact Choihar for more enquires.
• At our Self-Collection centres handing out bread and food ration to needy families and individuals, we need more volunteer to join us as packers on a once a week basis. Currently the centres in Woodlands, Admiralty, Yishun, Serangoon North and Jalan Besar needs more people on the team. So if it’s a good fit, we need you!

Corporate Social Responsibility Programme - Adopt a needy school for 2008

• We need the funds to provide monthly food rations to 50 most needy families identified through the school system. Each goodie bag cost $50 for one family. Total cost of sponsorship for 1 year is $30,000. Please contact Sarizan for more enquiries.

Please do note that if you are volunteering with us, we will appreciate at least a 6 months commitment upon activation of your service with us.
