Lantern Safari 2005 - Celebrating 30 years of culture, fun and festivals

This will be Chinese Garden's 30th year of celebrating Lantern Festival and we are determined to make it our biggest and best show! Filled with over 1100 pieces of lanterns, from big to bigger to biggest, you will be immersed into this animal land with a touch of tradition from the moment you enter our gates!

The festival was officially opened by Mr. Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Trade and Industry on 31st August 2005. The Official Opening has been termed the 'Love Night' since 2002, and it is a night dedicated to some 3 000 beneficiaries of 33 welfare homes.

There are 23 intriguing, exciting, mysterious and heart-warming themes of lanterns that will fill the Chinese Garden during this festival. From the dancing animal orchestras, to the bridge of musical fairies, leading you into the majestic palace of Chang Er, African Savannahs, to the Great Migration, the World of Big Cats and even a safari-styled ride through The World of Carnivorous Plants and Insects and the exhibit of The Revenge of the Living Trees, it will be exciting, educational and fun for everyone!
