This year’s show was about Singapore designers that push the idea of how clothing is made and the way in which the body is perceived. Two established past contest award winners – Leslie Chia of PIMABS and Alfie Leong of Mu are showcased together with two up and coming, cutting edge labels – Fürrmuse and FrüFrü & Tigerlily. The show on 6 April featured the season’s latest menswear from PIMABS and Fürrmuse and also Spring/Summer 08 womenswear from Mu and FrüFrü & Tigerlily. The catwalk presentation showed the contrast of established designers and new emerging brands. It also charts how Singapore designers, through Singapore’s fashion events can be groomed, paving the way for local design talents. These diverse designers culled for their distinctive signature looks, come together to create a show that is unique and directional, proving why Singapore Fashion Rules!
