The Room Full of Dark Desires Along Orchard Road

It’s not everyday that you get to peep into a “room full of dark desires” prominently displayed along Orchard Road for public viewing. And specifically the “desires” of Hollywood A-list celebrity star, Eva Longoria, the new spokesperson for Wall’s Magnum. Drooling is permitted. Dripping is not.

So what is this Mysterious room in the shape of a larger-than-life 9-ft tall box that will make its appearance for 3 days only from Fri-Sun, 27-29 June (see timing below), in the heart of Orchard Road, at Park Hotel Orchard, in front of Swensen’s & HSBC (formerly the old SingTel Hello shop) next to Heeren shopping centre?

In a recent survey by Wall’s, it was no surprise that they discovered women in Singapore (and we suspect elsewhere) desire and covet just about the same secret temptations – fashion, shoes, bags, jewellery, dream holidays, Money, forbidden love, a butler and even chocolate. As every savvy woman knows, it’s in giving into the temptations of life’s little luxuries that true pleasure lays. And no one knows this better than Eva Longoria, famed for her role in Desperate Housewives and now the new face for Magnum.

The Room Full of Dark Desires is specially created in celebration of smart women everywhere who aren’t afraid to abandon themselves to pleasure, and represents the stylish boudoir of Eva, and the decadence of her desires & indulgences. Within the Room, styled by designer Frederick Lee and furnished by RECAPTURED, are 4 other corners (boxes) where 1 of 5 temptations is on display, with the 5th temptation inside Eva’s boudoir. These temptations have been specially created for Magnum by designer Frederick Lee and each one is a Limited Edition 1-piece only fashion item.

During the 3 days from 5-8pm, a team of roving “divas” will parade along Orchard Road to hand out calling cards to passerbys and the public at large. The cards with clues on the temptations are to draw the curious public to peep into each of the boxes and Eva’s boudoir to guess what the 5 temptations are. Clues for the contest (such as “not all that glitters is gold”, “some cling and others flow”) and cheeky teaser-lines (“probably the sexiest treat your eyes will get ALL day, Drooling is permitted; dripping is not) are printed on the outside panels of the Room and the top prize winner gets to win 1 of the coveted limited-edition-designer temptations.

But the biggest temptation of them all is an Eva-persona, living on her indulgent lifestyle in the Room full of desires. Now that’s a temptation worth peeping into.
