This July, Singapore After-Care Association (SACA) and Warner Bros are proud to present Journey to the Centre of the Earth - an annual Charity Film Premiere that aims to raise funds to support welfare and rehabilitation services for ex-offenders and their families.

The remake of the classic Jules Verne novel stars the adventure loving Brendan Fraser (The Mummy I, II & III) and is directed by Academy Award-winning visual effects veteran, Eric Brevig (Total Recall, Pearl Harbour).

And to make sure that the adventurous journey continues, SACA has also tied up some great deals with the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and Jurong BirdPark for all guests.

In addition, we have the privilege of having Mr. Lim Swee Say, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office as the Guest of Honour this year.

As a Voluntary Welfare Organisation, SACA receives only 65% government funding and has to source the remaining 35% - an approximate $350,000, through our own fundraising initiatives.

SACA aims to raise a minimum sum of $100,000 through this fundraiser. It will go towards making up the shortfall required to sustain SACA’s After-Care Programmes, which include, the Case Management Framework Programme (CMFP); the Ex-Offender After-Care Programme (EAS); the Education Support Programme (ESP); the Volunteer After-Care Programme (VAP); and the Rebuilding Lives / Homecoming Programme.

11,000 people are released from the prisons annually, and of these, we are only able to assist an average of 2,000 ex-offenders due to limited funds. There are at least another 9,000 people who may potentially NEED OUR HELP!

Therefore, we would like to urge you to support this meaningful endeavour, as it is vital to the continuation of our work in assisting ex-offenders and their families.
