JPMorgan Corporate Chase Challenge 2008Singapore hosts the world’s most popular corporate social event for the fifth time The fifth annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge®, a 5.6-kilometer run, has established itself as one of the most popular corporate events in Singapore will be held on Wednesday, 23 April 2008 at The Padang. Teaming Up For A Greener TomorrowAll entrants in 2008 and JPMorgan Chase & Co. will be Teaming Up For A Greener Tomorrow, with the Corporate Challenge executing best practices to reduce the event's impact on the environment. For example, registration for the event will be exclusively online, t-shirts will be printed using soy ink, and most of the materials used by race organizers on-site will be recyclable. Fastest and Most Creative RunnersIn addition to the elements of camaraderie and philanthropy, there is also strong competition at the front of the pack and 15 Singapore companies will earn an invitation to the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Championship in New York, to be held on October 4. The top five male, female and mixed teams will be invited. Additionally, race organisers will be looking out for the first male and female ‘Most Senior Executive’ runners. In the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge event, there will be a T-Shirt Contest open to all participating companies. All are encouraged to design and produce a company team t-shirt for their team members to wear to the race. Let your creative juices flow and come up with a design that incorporates the Series logo, event name or any other element of the race. The companies with the top three designs will choose a charitable organisation to receive a donation of SGD $500 from JPMorgan. Two winners will be chosen by popular vote and one winner by the Executive Race Committee. A History of SuccessThe idea took on a life of its own in 1977 when 200 runners from 50 companies gathered in Central Park for the inaugural race in what then was called the Manufacturers Hanover Corporate Challenge®. The idea was an obvious hit. The Series has done nothing but grow, and grow, and grow since. JPMorgan Chase added events in two new continents in 2004, with inaugural races in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Singapore. These two cities have been spectacular successes and will be part of the six countries, five continents Series in 2007. As the Series celebrates its 31st year, it recalls its 25th year in 2001. That final number of participants that year totalled 220,020 - which represents participation more than 1,000 times greater than the first year. The idea of Charles H. McCabe, Executive Vice President of Manufacturers Hanover in 1977, clearly lives on today. To RegisterThe entry fee for the 2008 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Singapore is SGD $45 per entrant. All entries must be part of a corporate team, with each team needing to register a minimum of four employees. There is no limit to the number of employees that can be on a company team but, due to capacity restrictions, large teams should complete their registration early.
