“SIS is shocked and saddened by this tragic news”, said Ms Denise Marsh, General Manager of Singapore Indoor Stadium, “We are currently maintaining regular contact with the Show Promoter in Australia to gain further insight into the incident and will pass on any updates as they become available”.
Ms Fiona Gulin, Marketing Director of Dainty Consolidated Entertainment (Show Promoter) added, “As we share in the grief expressed by WWE supporters worldwide for this unfortunate event, we wish to assure local fans that both the roadshow on 6 July and the SmackDown SummerSlam Tour on 28 July will still go ahead as scheduled.”
Chris Benoit was known to fans of WWE as a man of few words, and was acknowledged by his peers as one of the greatest technical wrestlers on the circuit.
