          3pm – 3am (21, 22 June)

The Longest Satay Line – Record Breaking Event - 21 July 2007, Sat, 3 pm
Lau Pa Sat, which means ‘old market’ in Hokkien dialect, is a national monument located in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District.   By day, the office crowd filled Lau Pa Sat Festival Market to the brim with long queues forming at its numerous food vendors.   By night, Boon Tat Street - the side street next to Lau Pa Sat – is closed to traffic and transformed magically into ‘Satay Street’, the first revival of street hawkers in modern Singapore.
Relive the good old Alhambra days at Satay Street…tourists dine or sup side by side with the locals under the stars while rows of veteran satay hawkers panggang aromatic sticks of satays over charcoal – the old-fashioned way!
Satays can be dipped in delicious kuah (peanut sauce) with mouthwatering ketupat, timun and bawang on the side.
Experience a 'satay-epiphany' with the creation of the longest satay line, attempting to beat the previous record of 111 meters set three years ago, alongside food-related games and entertainment.
