Media Launch – River Island Spring / Summer Collection 2007

Adding an individual touch to the fine sensibility of British Fashion, River Island made its Asian debut in Singapore at its media launch at Fashion Bar at the Cannary on 17 Jan 2007. Prints took centre-stage in River Island women's wear as guests at the fashion show were treated to an array of dresses of different print options from graphics, over sized floral to retro prints.

Reference to the 80s were accented through interesting fabrications and trims on clothes as well as details such as leggings and tailored jackets with inverted PVC trims. The men's wear was a very wearable collection that focuses on a cross section of styles that reflect the diversity of today's modern Britain. River Island men's collection featured fuss free coordinates that celebrate a sense of belonging, freedom and more importantly of feeling comfortable.

Teaming with local retailer Robinsons, River Island will open two stores in Singapore this year. Speaking at the launch, Richard Bradbury, Managing Director of River Island was full of optimism when he announced the opening of River Island first Asian store in Singapore. “We are looking forward to the prospect of working with the best operator in Singapore, Robinsons. This is our first store in Asia and it is a very exciting step in the development of River Island into a global brand.” With plans of opening another 3 stores in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September this year, River Island looks set to offer Asian fashion consumers the best in Brit fashion.

River Island opens at VivoCity from 31 January 2007 and at Raffles City in May 2007.
