At the prize presentation ceremony, Princess Bhargavi Kumari Mewar presented the Best Hat award to Mrs. Anju Bhojwani while Cartier’s Managing Director, Mr. Christopher Kilaniotis, presented the Best Dressed Gentleman award to Mr. Tan Puay Hiang. Winners for the Most Valuable Player and Best Polo Playing Pony also received prizes sponsored by La Martina and Cartier from Mr. Kilaniotis. His Highness Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar presented the Cartier’s Le Maillet d’Or trophy to the triumphant Royal Mewar team and the ceremony ended with the popping of a bottle of Cuvée Cartier champagne.

This is the third time that Cartier has sponsored this premier international polo tournament. This year’s tournament was a full nine-day calendar comprising preliminary rounds for the Cartier International Silver League (6 – 8 goals) on the 9th and 10th June with Finals on the 16th June, the SEA Games Challenge match on the 14th June and of course the main event, the Cartier Le Maillet d’Or (12 – 14 goals) match on 17th June.

Says, Mr. Christopher Kilaniotis, the Managing Director for Cartier Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, "The Cartier International Polo Tournament was marked with even greater success this year. This is a sign of the sport's overall growing popularity in Singapore and of the uniqueness of the event. We were happy to see that the final between Singapore and the Royal Mewar team attracted many members of Singapore society. The interest for the game on the field was fantastic while glamour and elegance triumphed on the stands and VIP areas. The Cartier International Polo tournament is becoming a 'must' on the Singapore sport and social calendar and we are happy to play an active role in this annual event.”

Besides the title sponsor Cartier, the Singapore Polo Club would also like to thank Banque de Dépôts et de Gestion (BDG), for sponsoring this prestigious polo event for the second year in succession. The Club is also grateful to all our other sponsors – La Martina, Raffles Hotels & Resorts, Moët & Chandon, Fiji Water, Green Acres and pologirlsclub.com for being part of this event. It is with their continued and enthusiastic support that the Club was able to make the Cartier International Polo Tournament a great success once again.
