ASIA FASHION TRENDS - FROM RETAIL TO THE STREETS

As part of the Singapore Fashion Week (SFW07), the conference is specially designed for all the manufacturers, retailers, designers, buyers, entrepreneurs in the textile and fashion industry. All four member countries of China, Japan, Korea and Singapore presented on the topics on fashion trends in their countries and changing face of retail industry.

In the age of fast digital information transmission, consumers become very sophisticated. Retailers have to react to the changing environment, utilise all available technology to satisfy the needs for different targeted customers.

Mr Colin McDowell, who chaired the panel discussion, reiterated that it is very important for the designer, manufacturer and retailer to communicate with their consumer.

In conclusion, for Asian fashion to penetrate into big western market, all members from the panel agreed that they ought to communicate more often and exchange experiences from each other.
