Among the Singapore Food Festival's 50 events and the many promotions lined up island-wide throughout July are:

  • Chilli Crab Chase! visitor promotion returns for the third consecutive year, with thousands of Chilli Crab vouchers to be given away to foreign visitors between 1 and 31 July 2006. Tourists can pick up a voucher at the Singapore Visitors Centres at Orchard Road, Changi Airport or the Singapore Cruise Centre and enjoy a complimentary serving of the famed Singapore Chilli Crab at any of the 43 participating F&B establishments including Jumbo Seafood, Chen Fu Ji and Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant.
  • Super Crab 101 Buffet at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza on 2 July 2006 will feature a jaw-dropping number of crab dishes. This sold-out event will see some 200 participants partake in an indulgent crab feast, some of whom enjoyed a 50% discount when using NETS to pre-pay. Delightful dishes offered at the Buffet include Marmite Crab, Steamed Crab with Nonya sauce, Fried Crab with XO Sauce and Baked Crab with Coffee Sauce.
  • Singapore Food Ball Festival at Parco Bugis Junction, from 6 to 9 July 2006, aptly coincides with the World Cup soccer championships. Over 30 food stalls will be decked out in international flags, serving up fascinating food specials themed around the shape of soccer balls! Some of the offerings include Hainanese Chicken Rice Balls, Glutinous Rice Balls (Tang Yuan), Onde Onde (Malay dessert) as well as Ice Balls.
  • Dining in a Garden City at Plaza Singapura, from 12 to 16 July 2006, is a romantic affair, with dishes incorporating flowers served in a lush and luxuriant tropical garden setting.
  • Unique Flavours of Singapore Chinatown will see local and visiting foreign chefs step out of their kitchens to man the hawker stalls at Smith Street and dish out Singapore's most celebrated street food. To be held from 22 to 23 July 2006.
  • TIGER Chilli Crab Championship Series at the Singapore Culinary Academy and Spice Garden, at-sunrice on 26 July 2006, is an inaugural competition initiated by Tiger, as a part of the brand's vision to bring the best of Singapore to the world. To identify the nation's best chilli crab chefs, the competition will feature the most popular chilli crab restaurants voted by Singaporeans. These top chefs will come up with their version of chilli crab that pairs best with Tiger beer. The winner will present his concoction at an upcoming Tiger Beer Singapore Chilli Crab Fest overseas.
  • Wedding Feast on the Bay, at Marina Square and Millenia Walk, from 28 to 30 July 2006, is a showcase of local marriage customs and the food that is associated with them. Visitors will have a rare chance to witness and taste the longest multi-cultural wedding cake, as well as other tempting matrimonial treats.
  • Hawker Food Passport, presented by the National Environment Agency (NEA), lures foodies to two of Singapore's famous eating hubs - Maxwell Food Centre and the newly-renovated Newton Food Centre.
  • Culinary Workshops and Themed Events abound during the month of July. Activities range from learning how to harvest, cook and dine on an organic farm, to dining with wild animals at the Night Safari, as well as a fun cookout for children at 'My First Tropical Fruits Party'. For a healthy but delicious meal, the 'Multi-Cultural Gourmet Tour', a Festival first, will take visitors to some of the healthiest restaurants recommended by the Health Promotion Board.

Returning again is the popular Merchant Promotion Programme. Presented by NETS, also the presenter for the Singapore Food Festival 2006, the Merchant Promotion Programme features a host of food and beverage discounts and promotions at an extensive list of participating restaurants and establishments island-wide.
