Singapore Board Games Championship 2006

The Bukit Ho Swee Community Youth Executive Committee (PAYM Youth Group) collaborated with Settlers Café, which has been officially recognized by Mensa as the premier board game café in Singapore, held a board games championship tournament across the island to create awareness about the benefits of board games among youths, and brought together board games enthusiasts.

It was a pleasure to have the presence of Dr. Lily Neo, MP for Jalan Besar GRC and Advisor to Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng GRO as the Guest of Honour for the Singapore Board Games Championship 2006 and the official launch of FUNtastic YOUth Lounge, a fun and relaxing corner catered specially for the youths in Kim Seng Community Centre.

The Singapore Board Games Championship 2006 was held over two days at the Kim Seng Community Centre. There were 2 preliminary rounds held on the 29th of July, followed by the finals. Participants for the event encompassed selected secondary and tertiary level students in teams of two. In addition, there was an open category for individuals of ages twenty and above and the winners walked away with attractive prizes.
