From America's hotdogs, Chile's wine, India's nasi briyani, Indonesia's satay to Russia's pancake and pies, Turkey's kebabs, Malaysia's bee hoon goring and Singapore's Laksa, the public also got to savour delicacies from Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabic, Italy, France and Spain, just to name a few. Food aside, there was also an array of collectables specially brought in – India's paper marche, Japan's exquisite pottery, Poland's cosmetics, Switzerland's one of-a-kind keypost tags, as well as books, paintings and other exotic handicrafts and hourly lucky draws together with dance performances. The Singapore Red Cross aimed to raise S$300,000 for its local humanitarian services. Proceeds from the Red Cross International Bazaar would go towards the Red Cross Home for the Disabled, Red Cross Ambulance Service for the elderly and needy, first aid and disaster preparedness training, youth development programmes as well as other SRC local humanitarian services. Mrs. Ivy Singh, Chairman of the Organizing Committee was full of enthusiasm raising funds for the Red Cross. "I have great respect for the Singapore red Cross as it is an organization that reaches out to anyone and everyone. Singapore Red Cross needs the funds to continue their local humanitarian work. They don't touch the disaster relief donations which are collected for the disaster victims overseas." This is Mrs. Lim's fifth time organizing the Red Cross International Bazaar. His Excellency Chalermpol Thanchitt, the Ambassador of Thailand, and his wife, Mrs. Thanchitt were very pleased to support the Red Cross. Said HE Thanchitt, "Thailand is very happy to collaborate with the Singapore Red Cross for this International Bazaar. We have more than 50,000 Thai citizens working here in Singapore and we are thankful for the opportunity to do something for the Singapore community," Besides sponsoring the venue for the event, the Thai Embassy went the extra mile to provide their assistance in making the Bazaar a success.
