On 02 November 2006, Thursday, we move on to our most glamorous event, the IndoChine Festival Gala Night - Tropical Fiesta, in aid of NUH Endowment Fund – BMT 4 Kids. Guests will enjoy an exquisite dinner with free flow drinks. The program of events includes live performances by Latino musicians – Los Caballeros; Rosanna’s Jazz Players; and other guest appearances.

Last year’s gala dinner was graced by many distinguished guests like Princess Czarina, Mrs.
Pamelia Lee, Minister for Foreign Affairs, George Yeo, Mrs. Jennifer Yeo, Mr. Martin Söderström from Sweden, Mr. Tejan Fadlu-Deen from Dubai, and Miss Singapore – Colleen Francisca
Pereira.

As a result of the success, many are once again attending the IndoChine Festival Gala Night this year and among them is Mr. Kristian Ståhl, (STAHL Bespoke Jewellery) the designer of The Tailor-made Audi - The first ever for Audi Sweden to have their TT Roadster to be designed with precious stones. He says, “I’m coming to the IndoChine festival for the third time as it is such a great opportunity to meet other people of the global community under relaxed circumstances in an extremely nice environment”.

STAHL Bespoke Jewellery is donating a piece of jewellery to be auctioned. “We believe that this is the least we can do for a good cause at the IndoChine festival”, says Mr. Kristian Ståhl. It is in aid of NUH Endowment Fund, a charity under the stewardship of the National University Hospital, which plays a major role in supporting and financing areas of medicine.

This year, the fund is focusing on BMT 4 Kids (Blood and Marrow Transplant for Kids). Annually, up to 90 children survivors of terminal illnesses such as Leukemia and blood/genetic disorders get to integrate back into society and lead normal lives after they have been cured. However, about 30% of them will not be able to survive without a Blood / Marrow Transplant (BMT). For these patients, transplantation with blood/ marrow stem cells is their only chance of cure. But BMT is a costly and high-risk procedure. Few can afford this procedure as it costs more than $100,000 per operation. Therefore, “BMT 4 Kids” is taking this opportunity to help raise awareness and funds for these children.

The IndoChine Festival peaks with our Geisha Nights Party on 03 and 04 November 2006, Friday and Saturday. Japan’s renowned DJ Silva is the main attraction for these two nights – complete with her trademark kimonos as she spins a mix of Latino, House and R&B styled music. She’s one hot property in Asia who has performed at Club DJ Tour - Astromatic Party, Fat Boy Slim – One Way Ticket Paldokville, Tiffany Co’s Party, D&G Party and many more.

With 12 singles, and 3 albums under her belt, DJ Silva is set to bring the house down! But wait, the party doesn’t end in Singapore! DJ Silva will also be performing at IndoChine’s Bar SaVanh in Kuala Lumpur on 06 November, Monday.
