Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra, as well as acclaimed director Rakesh Roshan today made a whirlwind stopover in Singapore ahead of the worldwide release of their latest blockbuster, Krrish, on Friday 23 June 2006. Arriving this morning, they met media at a conference at The Fullerton Hotel located by the Singapore River in the afternoon, then graced a gala cocktail reception at IndoChine Waterfront at the Asian Civilisations Museum before taking the night flight out. Singapore is the first of their publicity stops for Krrish, the others being Dubai and London. The sequel to the 2004 hit, Koi Mil Gaya, is the first Indian mega movie filmed under the Singapore Tourism Board's Film in Singapore! Scheme. About 60 per cent of the movie was shot here, at locations such as the Esplanade -- Theatres on the Bay, the cultural precinct of Chinatown, the popular resort island of Sentosa, and Singapore's premier shopping street, Orchard Road. Mr Rakesh Roshan said, "The diversity of scenes made Singapore an obvious choice when I was considering locations. It is a decision that has paid off handsomely. It was a breeze filming in Singapore, thanks to its efficiency and well developed infrastructure. Krrish showcases Singapore in a very unique light and I'm proud to show that to audiences the world over." |
