Recognised as one of Asia’s top artiste, David Tao is renowned for his musical abilities in composing, song-writing, producing and singing, and has won countless accolades for his record breaking albums, including the prestigious Billboard's Most Outstanding Singer-Songwriter in Asia in 1998.

“David Tao 2008” promises to be a visually driven show, although musically it will be a more straight-ahead yet funkier sound, with a new rundown, programme and concept. David says that, “About 80% of the songs from my repertoire have been re-thought for this show so you can be sure they will not resemble what you have in ‘Soul Power’ and ‘Love Can’ tours. This is an entirely new and fresh production.”

The tour comes with an interesting Mandarin title, which in English, can be loosely translated as “123 We Are All Wooden Men”. The concept, which revolves around a children’s game that is known as ‘Red Light, Green Light’ in some countries, came about as David Tao feels the importance of simplicity and the need for us to be more human in this very technological age. The interaction between an artiste and his audience is what would separate a good concert from a mediocre one.

With each tour, David Tao is constantly trying to achieve giving each of his song more meaning by the use of staging and visual elements, while minimising the use of too many flashy gimmicks. “The objective of my production team is to make things relevant rather than just providing eye and ear candy.”

Expect to hear fresh new renditions of David Tao’s many hits such as “I Love You” (爱, 很简单), “Love Me Or Him” (爱我还是他), “Moon Over My Heart” (月亮代表谁的心), “Airport 10:30” (飞机场的 10:30), “Too Beautiful” (太美丽), “Spring Wind” (望春风), “Ordinary Friends” (普通朋友), “Melody”, “Everyday” (天天), “Small Town Girl” (小镇姑娘), “Black Tangerine” (黑色柳丁), “Love Can” (就是爱你), “Susan Says” (Susan 说), “Art Of War” (孙子兵法), “Can’t Get You Out of My Mind” (忘不了) and more, in this world tour that has already thrilled audiences in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Taipei since May 2007.
