Just days after the King of Pop, Jacky Cheung, vacates his throne at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the Diva of Mandarin pop, Chang Huimei, popularly known as A-mei (张惠妹, 阿妹) is all ready to take over.

This year 2007 marks A-mei’s return to the music scene with a new record label, EMI Music, a new album “STAR” which will be released on 3rd August, and a brand new world tour to celebrate yet another milestone in her illustrious career - her 10th anniversary.

“A-mei Star Tour 2007” is set to thrill on 8th November 2007, Thursday, 8pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets priced at $158 (soldout), $138, $118, $88(soldout) (excluding $2 booking fee) will be available via all SISTIC outlets from 19th July 2007 onwards.

One of the biggest music sensations in the Mandarin pop scene, and sometimes billed as the “Pride of Taiwan”, A-mei never fails to deliver an impressive performance each time she takes to the stage despite any controversy she may receive off it. A decade on in the fickle music business, A-mei has proven many of detractors wrong with her relentless staying power, and remains down to earth and accessible despite her diva status.

Known for her powerful vocals and electrifying stage presence, A-mei has a string of karaoke friendly hits to her name such as "The One Who Loves Me the Most Hurts Me the Most" (最爱的人伤我最深), "Nothing You Want After All" (原来你什么都不要), "Sisters" (姐妹), "Released" (解脱), "Can't Cry" (哭不出来), "Listen to the Sea" (听海), "I Want Happiness" (我要快乐), "Remember" (记得), "Bad Boy", "Holding Hands" (牵手), "Pearl Harbour" (排山倒海), "The Baddie" (狠角色) and many more.

Just like the title of her new album, STAR, A-mei is definitely still one of the brightest stars in the galaxy of Mandarin pop and in the hearts of her many fans. Be a part of the expected 10,000 crowd and be entertained by the Diva herself on 8th November, as she puts up yet another stellar centre stage performance.
