The SINGAPORE SUPERGARDEN brings young designers across different creative disciplines together in a unique design dialogue.

The DesignSingapore Council will present the SINGAPORE SUPERGARDEN, a series of 22 objects and inter-related dialogues by design individuals and groups, at the Singapore Pavilion for the 11th Venice Biennale International Architectural Exhibition in Italy from 14 September to 23 November 2008.

This presentation shows how the organic interactions among young designers and architectural groups are cross-pollinating their ideas. It is about capturing the ecosystem of design thought and the intricate links between Singapore designers who are actively participating in the global design discourse.

“The SINGAPORE SUPERGARDEN articulates the dynamic and vibrant nature of Singapore’s architecture and design community. It showcases the on-going interdisciplinary partnerships, encounters and conversations that shape Singapore design today. This presentation has been curated by a group of young Singapore designers and reveals a more inclusive design process in keeping with our global outlook,” said Dr Milton Tan, Commissioner of the Singapore Pavilion and Director, DesignSingapore Council.

Following an open call for nomination, three architectural groups, comprising FARMWORK, Design Act and ReallyArchitecture act, were selected to develop a presentation on Singapore’s new emerging architectural thinking.
