It was a private collection of nonya kebaya belonging to late Datin Seri Endon Mahmood of Malaysia, the wife of Malaysia's Honourable Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Hj. It was worn by the Peranakans, the Straits Chinese which married the local women in the early 20th century. The present outfit of the air-hostess from the Singapore Airlines is also part of the Peranakans fashion .
